Tip 3: Simple ways to add flavor to your steak
- Keep it simple! Season with salt, pepper and granulated garlic, and let your grill make the statement!
- Use wood chips and chunks, like cherry, to add extra flavor and aroma to your steak.
- Add diamond marks. Rotate steak a 1/4 turn after 2 minutes, wait 2 minutes, the flip, wait 2 minutes then rotate a 1/4 turn
- Compliment or contrast the flavor of the steak with a reduction, red wine or garlic/herb butter sauce.
- Saute onions and mushrooms in a veggie basket with salt, pepper and butter, serve over top of your steak.
Tip 4: Quick winter grilling tips
- Keep your grill cleaning tools in a dry place, so that they are ready when you’re going to clean the grill.
- For gas grills, when the grill is cool, scrape the cookbox to push debris into the grease tray. Then scrape and push all the debris from the grease tray into the drip pan. Throw out the drip pan when it is full.
- For charcoal grills, while the grill is cool, use either the One-Touch Cleaning System or scrape the inside of the bowl, to push ash and debris into the ash catcher. Make sure to empty your ash catcher pan or bowl.
- For electric grills, while the grill is cool, scrape the cookbox to push debris into the drip pan. Then throw out and replace the drip pan, if it is full.
- Keep you grill snow free by setting a timer to remind yourself to go back out and put the cover on once it’s cool.
